About Hosting365:
- Setup in 2001 by Stephen McCarron (still owner and managing director) as a domain registration and web hosting provider. By 2005 became the largest web hosting company in Ireland, with circa 35% market share, more than 4 times bigger than the nearest competitor.
- In 2005 acquired a Data Centre ‘Headquarters’ in Parkwest, Dublin 12. This was the start of the Managed Services side of the business.
- I joined at the end of 2005 as Marketing Director, which included R&D and International Expansion, and by the end of 2006, Operations and HR. I was named General Manager in March 2007 and in my time have helped the company grow from 18 staff to over 50; setup Hosting365 Sp.Zoo our Polish subsidiary which now has 22 staff; introduced our Cloud Platform; split off and sold Register365; and seen revenue grow by over 100%.
- In 2006 setup an office in Poland to do software R&D. By 2008, Poland has a full R&D Team, a 24×7 Customer Care Team, a Sales and Marketing Team, as well as a growing and active customer base. Hosting365 now has 22 staff in Poland.
- Split Register365 off as a subsidiary to focus on domain registration and shared hosting, created internal teams for this and created a new brand in the market. Sold Register365 to NamesCo in May 2008.
- By June 1st 2008, Hosting365 was an exclusively Managed Services company, focussed on providing Managed Colocation, Hosted Servers, Hosted IT Services, and Managed Services.
- As of June 1st 2008, Hosting365 have over 50 employees between Ireland and Poland.
- Hosting365 was named the 7th Fastest Growing Technology Company in Ireland in 2007 by Deloitte.

Byrne previously ran a software development company where he consulted blue chip companies and software houses on web based applications, and managed the internet strategy from development and analytics to communications and content for a number of businesses.
